Pigeons are very cute to look at, yet the cuteness is only feather deep. Feral pigeons are homing pigeons that have been domesticated in the 1600s and made into messenger pigeons. However with the speed of exchange in information and messages pigeons have been rendered useless and thus were abandoned in the urban wild. Unfortunately pigeons have survived and adapted to our city. One of the of the pigeons are their pigeon droppings. The droppings themselves can actually infect those who touch it if ever your pigeon turns out to be a reservoir or vector for pathogens. Diseases found in the droppings come from bacteria and viruses, if you are so unlucky, fungal infection can happen. So don’t just brush off that pigeon poop that splattered from the sky, clean them properly so you’ll also avoid getting sick. One way to do that is aggressive pigeon control however if all else fails, referring the problem to professionals.
